Last May 17, 2025, Saturday, the ZMG Group proudly held its Kalinga Eduventure in collaboration with Childhope Philippines and Work ‘N Save. With the theme “EduVenture Time – Smart Savers, Start Young!”, the event was a day of fun-filled learning, meaningful interactions, and heartwarming moments shared with the kids.
Before the program officially started, the children were given time to interact with one another and enjoy a hearty breakfast. The event was hosted by Seth Sesalim, HR Generalist of Asia Select, who warmly welcomed everyone and introduced the Kalinga Advocates—the volunteers who dedicated their time to make the day unforgettable for the kids.
Piggy Bank Making Activity
The event officially started with opening remarks from Mr. Hernan Saringan, President and CEO of Asia Peopleworks and an Audit Committee member of Work N’ Save, who emphasized the importance of saving money and how it can positively impact their future. After the speech, the room quickly filled with energy and creativity as the kids, guided by their volunteer buddies, eagerly began decorating their piggy banks. The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and colorful creativity.
Each volunteer was paired with two kids to assist them in creating their very own piggy banks. To make the activity more exciting, three children with the most creative piggy banks were selected to receive special prizes.
And then once the piggy banks were completed, the volunteers carefully selected the most outstanding works and awarded the winners prizes.
Learning Session: The Value of Saving
After the piggy bank activity, the children gathered for a learning session led by Christelle Loi Suspene, Senior Associate of ZMG Ward Howell and a member of Work ‘N Save. To make the lesson engaging and relatable, Christelle delivered the topic through the classic Filipino fable “Ang Langgam at Tipaklong” (The Ant and the Grasshopper).
Through engaging storytelling, she illustrated the importance of saving and how small, consistent efforts today can lead to security and success in the future. The children were fully engaged, eager to answer questions and share their thoughts, clearly showing how deeply the story resonated with them.
Closing and Takeaways
To encourage the children to begin their saving journey, Work N’ Save generously sponsored coins that were placed inside each of their piggy banks. They also received school supplies to support their educational journey and to ensure both their minds and tummies were full and happy, each child took home a Happy Meal.
The event was a true reflection of ZMG Group’s core value—Malasakit. More than just providing opportunities in the workplace, the organization continues to extend its support to the community by dedicating time, talent, and treasure to those in need. Through initiatives like Kalinga Eduventure, ZMG Group aims to inspire the youth and help shape a better, more empowered future.
